The Forgotten Man – Jon McNaughton

What has President Obama done? Visit: www.mcnaughtonart.com Against the background of a darkening sky, all of the past Presidents of the United States gather before the White House, as if to commemorate some great event. In the left hand corner of the painting sits a man. That man, with his head bowed appears distraught and hopeless as he contemplates his future. Some of the past Presidents try to console him while looking in the direction of the modern Presidents as if to say, “What have you done?” Many of these modern Presidents, seemingly oblivious to anything other than themselves, appear to be congratulating each other on their great accomplishments. In front of the man, paper trash is blowing in the wind. Crumpled dollar bills, legislative documents, and, like a whisper—the US Constitution beneath the foot of Barack Obama. The Forgotten Man – Jon McNaughton

This man is a rabble-rouser, a born demagogue. www.huffingtonpost.com “This is a battlefield, that we must stand upon. We need to let President Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, (audience boos) and my dear friend the chairman of the Democrat National Committee, we need to let them know that Florida ain't on the table,” West said. “Take your message of equality of achievement, take your message of economic dependency, take your message of enslaving the entrepreneurial will and spirit of the American people somewhere else. You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it to the North Pole, but get the hell out of the United States of America.” Full speech: www.youtube.com

The Fraternity of Odd Fellows is considered one of the oldest and largest fraternity (also known as a fraternal and service organization and a friendly society) in the world. Its roots can be traced back to trade guilds in England in the year 1700s or older. It is also the first fraternity to accept both men and women when it formed that Rebekah degree in 1851. Though the term sorority was not yet coined in that year, the Rebekah may be considered the first and oldest sorority in the world. It aims to improve and elevate the character of humankind, to aid the community and the world and make it a better place to live, to aid the less fortunate by donating to charities, to support the youth of our community and help them grow, to aid our own members in times of distress, to support science and research foundations for the elimination of diseases and poverty and to support our community in every way possible. Its motto is friendship, love, and truth. It continues to exist in the United States, Canada, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Australia, New Zealand, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Norway, Poland, Puerto Rico, Philippines, Sweden, and Switzerland with over 600000 members making it one of the oldest and largest fraternity in the world. Moreover, Odd Fellowship, unlike many other organizations, makes no special effort to attract “name” members. Odd Fellows is a warm, personal type of affiliation that doesn't rely on

In other news Wednesday, the United States warned Iran not to block oil traffic from the Persian Gulf. Iran had threatened this week to close the crucial Strait of Hormuz if the West embargoes Iranian oil. Also, the latest poll in the GOP presidential race reshuffled the standings, making Mitt Romney the new Iowa front-runner.

New Wrap: US Warns Iran Against Blocking Passage for Oil Tankers

As consumers in the United States hunted for bargains last Friday (Nov. 25) on one of the busiest shopping days of the year, a few lucky skywatchers in New Zealand were treated to a very different kind of “Black Friday” — a partial solar eclipse that darkened the sky over parts of the southern hemisphere.

USS Arizona (Inside the Wreck!!)

I do not own this video or images. Posted under Fair Use. I posted this for historical purposes only. In Honor of the 1177 American lives lost on board the USS Arizona (BB-39) on December 7, 1941. USS Arizona (BB-39) was a Pennsylvania-class battleship of the United States Navy and the first to be named “Arizona”. On March 4, 1913, Congress authorized the construction of Arizona, named to honor the 48th state's admission into the union on 14 February 1912. The ship was the second and last of the Pennsylvania class of “super-dreadnought” battleships. Her keel was laid at the Brooklyn Navy Yard on 16 March 1914. She was launched on 19 June 1915, sponsored by Esther Ross, the daughter of a prominent Arizona pioneer, WW Ross of Prescott, Arizona. I want to pay tribute to those men who gave their lives while serving aboard the USS Arizona on that day. Seeing in this video the cabins and state rooms 65 plus years later just as they were on that fateful day brings strong emotion in me. This ship is not just a bunch of B+W images in a book but a REAL place where men lived, worked, and died.
