Johannes Mehserle is the former BART police officer who has been charged with the murder of Oscar Grant, 22, on the Fruitvale station on January 1, 2009. Officer Anthony Pirone and Marysol Dominici were the first to respond to a fight that occurred on car 1 of the train. During day 2 of the trial, defense attorney Michael Rains suggested that the fight or conflict between Oscar Grant and David (aka Deisal) was gang related when Jamiel Dewars was on the stand during cross examination.
