vault.ncaa.com Mateen Cleaves, Morris Peterson and AJ Granger ended their careers at Michigan State on top, leading the Spartans to an 89-76 victory over Florida in the national title game. The three seniors combined to score 58 points, led by Peterson's team-high 21 points. Cleaves was named the Final Four's most outstanding player.

The 2012 NCAA tournament bracket could have been historic on Mar. 18. If the Lehigh Mountain Hawks had pulled another upset over the Xavier Musketeers, they would have been the first No. 15 seed in any bracket to reach the Sweet 16. It also would have given my home state of Pennsylvania at least one team left to root for in the NCAA tournament after the Temple Owls lost.
