The New York native joined the cast in 1976 as Dietrich, whom a Times reviewer once referred to as ‘infuriatingly cerebral.’ Steve Landesberg, a comic actor who played the intellectual Det. Arthur Dietrich in the long-running ABC sitcom “Barney Miller,” has died. He was believed to be 74.

Heath Miller was trying to make a play for his team. He didn’t. On Sunday Night Football , the Pittsburgh Steelers tight end was the target of a Ben Roethlisberger pass. But he wasn’t the recipient.
