First Lady Michelle Obama, whose Let's Move campaign is aimed at fighting obesity, helped unveil the new design. ;The original US food pyramid appeared in 1992, and a more confusing, prismatic update was released in 2005. Nutritionists have long lamented the counterintuitive nature of the pyramid, particularly the fact that sugars and sweets appeared at the top.
