www.intelius.com – March 20, 2009, over 200 youth gathered for the kick-off of the SMART Girls and GOOD Guys (also known as Passport to Manhood) programs. Sponsored by local technology company Intelius, this event marked the beginning of the community's annual celebration of National Boys & Girls Club Week, which ended March 28, 2009. SMART Girls and Passport to Manhood are nationally implemented programs with ties to the group's “Be Great” campaign. Both programs focus on building self-esteem and responsibility among kids and teen, aged five to 16, and emphasize how health and positive choices are building blocks for success. For the Bellevue club event, over 200 kids and young adults were bussed from various associate school and housing sites to come together and discuss what the “Be Great” campaign means to them and join in the celebration of Boys & Girls Club Week.
