bit.ly – St. Louis Cardianls has taken two of the first three games but will take the field tonight with a revamped roster and more specifically a pitching staff that has several new faces. It will be a battle of lefthanders tonight with Wandy Rodriguez (6-7, 3.60) scheduled to start for Houston while Jaime Garcia will take the bump for St. Louis. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that Garcia has emerged as the ace of the Cardinals injury riddled starting rotation. He's allowed just four runs in his last 20.1 innings is 6-1 at home with an ERA of 1.14 and MLB odds makers listed him as a big -205 favorite with the total at 7.5. The MLB live lines remain unchanged at the sportsbooks, and even though the chalk is set over $2.00 i am going to make a small play on the Cardinals to take the win and keep their division hopes alive. Rodriguez who has been the subject of almost daily trade rumors, has been pitching like a guy who is letting stuff that's out of his control affect his game. He's 0-3 in his last four starts and has given up 16 runs in 24 innings. Rodriguez is 5-11 lifetime against the Redbirds with an ERA of 4.02.
