A Who's Who of Harris County criminal defense lawyers read the Declaration of Independence at the Harris County Criminal Justice Center on Tuesday. They joined lawyers throughout 12 states, including Texas and the District of Columbia, who read the Declaration aloud. Houston criminal defense Robert Fickman organized the mass readings, which also took place in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, the District of Columbia, Georgia, Kansas, Michigan, Mississippi, New Mexico, South Carolina, and Utah, in addition to Texas. The Houston reading was led by Chris Tritico, president of the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association. More than a dozen HCCLA members took part in the Houston reading.
